East Anglian Large Scale Off Road R/C Club

This year we welcome the East Anglian Large Scale Off Road R/C club to the show, who will be holding races throughout the day,

The club is based on the outskirts of Ipswich just off the A14.

They have a track that is 453 metres long on a grass surface and is marked out with 4" plastic tubing with a scaffolded 20 foot container as a rostrum. They meet most Sundays (weather permitting) for some racing and a chat, nothing too serious. Just a bit of fun. They also have an area for smaller scale nitro vehicles which is good for the younger members.

Team AFM Racing

Following Rick Kerry’s huge success racing in the BMW Khumo Series (Overall Championship Winner in 2005 & 2006), Rick now embarks on his latest challenge, British Touring Car Racing. However what sets Rick apart from the rest of the field is the revolutionary type of car in which he sets out to win.

Alternative Fuels Motorsport is a brand new motorsport company based in Suffolk which will be the first team in the BTCC to use the BMW One Series car. What is even more exciting is the car will be powered by a diesel engine.

With the first diesel powered British Touring Car, Alternative Fuels Motor sport raises the bar at BTCC in 2007/ 2008, just as Audi did at Le Mans in 2006 with the first V10 diesel powered winner. Where Alternative Fuels Motor sport aims to go one step further than Audi in the diesel revolution, will be the use of bio fuel, which will take the sport to the next chapter in racing car development.

Over the last few years, our driver Rick Kerry has become well known in motorsport for his perseverance, tenacity and ultimately his success. Now Rick has put together a new racing team which has energy, commitment and above all belief in its abilities.

Alternative Fuels Motorsport is a young company with a very enthusiastic team based in Suffolk. With its ethos of ‘thinking out of the box’ and by embracing new technologies, AFM is set to challenge for every chequered flag in 2008 on the track, and aims to achieve new milestones in R&D for future years to come.

Sponsors are sought for the coming year, all support is greatly appreciated and we expect to reward all our sponsors with successful results and huge subsequent media interest in our car, believe us there will be!

Star Radio

Apart from broadcasting from the show throughout the day, Star Radio are again providing additional entertainment for you, this year.

Bands

GenerationZ was formed 2 years ago and includes 4 members of the old A4TEEN from St Felix - now considerably older. The 2 additional members both have many years experience in the music business. The band reformed a year ago with a new vocalist and drummer and with the addition of Claire the multi-talented musician playing keyboard, saxophone and flute. The aim of the band is to provide live music for local groups and organisations and to support fund-raising for local charities. We are currently raising funds for EACH - East Anglia's Children's Hospices and donate half our booking fee for each gig to the charity.

Pantastix! is the steel band from St Felix Middle School in Newmarket. The band comprises pupils aged 12 and 13 years old who have been learning to play the steel drums for a year and a half. Pantastix! play a wide range of music from traditional Caribbean songs to arrangements of modern music. Pop songs, film themes, medleys, dance music - you name it, they probably play it!
